Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Blur Photo ("the App", "we", "us"), developed by AppSweat, handles your information. The App exists to keep private things private, so it is built to need as little of your data as possible — which turns out to be almost none.

The short version: Blur Photo has no account, no server and no analytics. Your photos are opened, edited and exported entirely on your own device. We never receive them, and we could not retrieve them if we wanted to.

1. Information we do not collect

2. How your photos are handled

When you pick a photo, iOS hands a copy of that image to the App. All processing — face detection, subject masking, blurring, pixelating and encoding — happens on your device using Apple's own frameworks (PhotosUI, Vision, Core Image). Nothing is sent over a network at any point.

The photo you started from is never modified. Exporting always creates a new image file; your original stays in your library exactly as it was.

Edits exist only while the editor is open. Closing the editor discards them; the App keeps no project history or cache of your pictures.

3. Permissions the App asks for

Declining any of these does not lock you out of the App; only the feature that needs it becomes unavailable. You can change your mind at any time in Settings → Blur Photo on your device.

4. Metadata and exports

Photos carry metadata such as the camera model, the date, and often GPS coordinates. By default, Blur Photo removes location data from every exported copy, so a photo you blurred for privacy does not quietly reveal where it was taken. Premium users can turn that behaviour off if they need the location preserved.

Other technical metadata from the source file may be carried into the exported copy so that colour and orientation are reproduced correctly.

5. Data stored on your device

The App stores a small amount of information locally, using the standard iOS preferences store:

This data never leaves the device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.

6. Purchases

Premium is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Payments, receipts and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details. The App asks Apple whether a valid purchase exists in order to unlock Premium features; that check contains no information about you.

Apple's handling of purchase data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.

7. Children

Blur Photo is not directed at children under 13, and because the App collects no personal information, it does not knowingly collect anything from children.

8. Your rights

Regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none. There is no account to close and no records to request, because your content stays on your device. Deleting the App removes everything it stored.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the App's release notes.
