Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Calculus Lock ("the App", "we", "us"), developed by AppSweat, handles your information. Your privacy is the entire reason this app exists, so we keep things simple and local.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect, upload, or transmit the photos, videos, notes, or files you store in your vault.
• We do not collect your name, email, contacts, or location.
• We do not create accounts or require you to sign up.
• We do not have access to your PIN, password, security questions, or recovery code.

2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

To function, the App stores the following only on your device:

• Files you choose to import into the vault (photos, videos, documents).
• Your PIN is stored as a one-way cryptographic hash — never as plain text.
• Security settings, recovery questions/code, and app preferences.
• Optional intruder log entries (e.g. a photo captured after failed unlock attempts), stored locally.

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it yourself.

3. Permissions We Request

• Photos / Storage: so you can select media to move into your private vault.
• Camera: to capture media directly into the vault and, if enabled, to record intruder snapshots.
• Biometrics (Face ID / Touch ID / Fingerprint): handled entirely by your operating system; we never receive your biometric data.

All permissions are optional and only used for the feature you activate.

4. Purchases & Subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store and Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. Purchase verification is handled by the store and our payment provider (RevenueCat), which may receive an anonymous purchase identifier to validate your subscription. 5. Third-Party Services

We may use privacy-respecting services strictly to operate the App, such as subscription management and crash diagnostics. These do not receive your vault contents. Aggregated, anonymous diagnostic data may be used to fix bugs and improve stability.

6. Data Security

Your vault is protected by your PIN and (optionally) device biometrics. Because your data is stored locally, its security also depends on your device's own protection. We strongly recommend enabling a device passcode and keeping your recovery code in a safe place.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Because everything is stored locally, you are in full control. Deleting an item removes it from the vault, and uninstalling the App permanently deletes all app data from your device. There is nothing for us to delete on our side because we never had it.

8. Children's Privacy

Calculus Lock is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
