Email supportFrequently asked questions
Why can I hear the whistle?
iPhone speakers and human hearing vary. WHSTL shows the requested frequency and, when hardware limits apply, the frequency actually produced. It does not claim that every iPhone can produce inaudible ultrasonic output. Start at low volume and stop if anyone or any animal shows discomfort.
The whistle is quiet or I hear no sound.
Raise system volume gradually, confirm audio is routed to the intended speaker or accessory, and try a lower frequency. Some devices and speakers cannot reproduce the highest settings. Silent Mode does not replace the system volume level.
Why does the whistle stop when I release or leave the app?
This is intentional safety behavior. The whistle plays only while you hold the control and stops on release, drag-out, backgrounding, screen lock, audio interruption, or route change.
How do I enable reminders?
Create or edit a reminder and enable it. WHSTL requests notification permission only when you save an enabled reminder. If permission was denied, open iOS Settings → Notifications → WHSTL and allow notifications.
How do I restore WHSTL Pro?
Sign in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase, open WHSTL Settings → WHSTL Pro, and choose Restore Purchases. A lifetime purchase does not renew and does not need cancellation.
How do I export or delete my data?
Open WHSTL Settings. Export Data creates a local JSON file that you choose where to share. Delete All Data removes local dogs, photos, sessions, progress, reminders, and preferences and cancels scheduled notifications. Your App Store purchase remains restorable.
Does WHSTL upload my dog information?
No. Dog profiles, photos, notes, routines, reminders, and history stay on your device. Apple and RevenueCat process limited purchase information only when purchase services are used. See the Privacy Policy.
